This little tool can make your water change routine simple and less stressful for you.
As a fish breeder and hobbyist myself, I can understand the struggle of avoiding tiny fry and shrimplets during routine aquarium maintenance and water changes.
Then following the struggle of avoiding them inevitably getting sucked into the siphon anyway. Now you're spending the next 20-30 minutes hopelessly trying to catch them with a net, just for the tiny baby to fight all your efforts to put him back in is home. This part of the hobby can be somewhat annoying. Since introducing this small, but efficient tool to my routine I have spent 0% of my time retrieving shrimplets or fry.
Made BPA free plastic and Stainless Steel
No worries about chemicals leaching into your aquarium from cheap materials. The prefilter is made from high quality materials that do not contain toxic chemicals and will not rust.
Fine Mesh Stainless Steel
When I first started using this product, I was at first worried about the mesh size. After testing water changes with everything from my shrimp tanks, to livebearer fry, to just under 1 month old betta fry, all will complete success. No tiny babies had made their way into the waste water bucket.
Disassembles for Easy Cleaning
The last thing we want in the fishroom is a product that can't be completely cleaned properly. Especially a tool that is most likely to be around sensitive fry and shrimplets. The Shrimplet and Fry safe Hose Prefilter can be easily taken apart for easy cleaning.
Overall Thoughts
Although this tool is amazing for water changes, it (of course) does not replace the need to gravel vac your aquarium.
When it comes to water changes though, I have saved so much time and energy since introducing this tool to my water change routine. I no longer have waste water buckets sitting around taking up space, waiting for any babies that need to be caught and returned to their tank.
Factoring in the ability to completely clean every part of the prefilter inside and out, I honestly have zero complaints about the prefilter working great for water changes with tiny tank inhabitants.
